Welcome to Antique Identifier - Vestige, developed by MarioApps, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about you when you use our iOS application and related services.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not serve third-party ads in our apps, and we do not use your information for cross-app advertising.

Information We Collect

User-Provided Information

We do not directly collect or store personal information on our servers. However, when you use certain features of the app:

• App Content: Information you enter in the app (such as your antiques, notes, and preferences) is stored privately in your iCloud account.
• Images: Photos you upload for antique identification are transmitted to third-party AI services (see "Use of Third-Party Services" section below)
• Visual Image Search: The same photo is also sent to Google Cloud Vision so we can find visually similar images on the public web. Result titles, source website names, page links, and thumbnail URLs are returned to the app and saved with that catalog item on your device and in your iCloud account if iCloud sync is enabled.
• Text Queries: Any text or prompts you provide are sent to third-party services for processing
• Device Information: Basic device and app usage data may be collected for analytics, crash reporting, and app functionality

Important: Images submitted for identification and visual image search are transmitted to and processed by third-party AI and image-search services as described below. We do not store a copy of the submitted image on our servers.

Use of Third-Party Services

Antique Identifier - Vestige shares certain data with third-party service providers to enable core functionality of the app. Before using this app, you must understand and consent to the following third-party data sharing practices:

iCloud (Apple)

iCloud / CloudKit: We use Apple iCloud services to store and sync your app content across your devices.

• Data Shared: Your app content is stored in your iCloud account and is associated with your Apple ID.
• Purpose: To provide private storage and syncing across your devices.
• Data Control: Your iCloud data is governed by Apple's iCloud and privacy practices. You can manage iCloud access in iOS Settings.

Third-Party AI Services

OpenAI and Google Gemini: We use OpenAI and Google Gemini AI services to power our antique identification features.

• Data Shared: The images you upload and any related text queries are transmitted to OpenAI and/or Google Gemini for AI processing
• Purpose: To analyze your images and provide antique identification results
• Third-Party Privacy Policies: This data transmission is subject to OpenAI's and Google's privacy and security practices. We strongly recommend reviewing:

• Data Control: Once your data is transmitted to OpenAI or Google Gemini, it is subject to their data handling practices. We do not control how OpenAI or Google processes or retains this information

Google Cloud Vision (Visual Image Search)

Google Cloud Vision: When you scan an item, we also send the photo to Google Cloud Vision's Web Detection feature so we can show visually similar images and matching pages from the public web. Requests go through our visual-matches backend; the Google Cloud API key is not stored on your device.

• Data Shared: The photo you submit, and optionally your device language and country so results can be localized. We do not send your name, Apple ID, or account credentials with this request.
• Purpose: To find visually similar images and web pages related to the item you scanned, and to display those matches in the app.
• How Google uses the photo: Google states that it does not use Cloud Vision content to train its Cloud Vision models, does not claim ownership of the image, and processes online Vision requests in memory without persisting the image to disk. Google may temporarily log request metadata (such as time and size) to operate and protect the service. See Google's Cloud Vision Data Usage FAQ and the Cloud Data Processing Addendum.
• Our servers: Our backend receives the photo only long enough to forward it to Google Cloud Vision and return the matches. We do not keep a copy of the submitted photo on our visual-matches servers.
• Match results stored on your device: Titles, source names, page links, and thumbnail URLs returned by Google are saved with that catalog item on your device and, if iCloud sync is enabled, in your iCloud account. Deleting the catalog item, resetting the catalog, or deleting the app removes this data from the device (iCloud deletions sync to your other devices).
• Thumbnails and source pages: The app loads thumbnail images from the URLs Google returns. Those third-party websites or content-delivery networks may see your device's IP address. Tapping a match opens the source webpage, or Google Lens when the result is an image URL. Those destinations have their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. If you are signed in to Google in the browser, Google Lens may associate that visit with your Google account.

In-App Purchase Processing

RevenueCat: In-app purchases and subscription management are processed through RevenueCat, a third-party service.

• Data Shared: Purchase history, subscription status, and device identifiers
• Purpose: To manage subscriptions, process payments, and provide premium features

Apple (Refund Processing)

Data Shared with Apple: We may share data regarding your usage and consumption of purchased content with Apple.

• Purpose: To help Apple make informed decisions regarding refund requests you initiate
• Legal Basis: This sharing is done in compliance with Apple's policies and only as necessary to process your requests

Firebase (Google)

Firebase Services: We use Google Firebase for push notifications, analytics, remote feature configuration, and crash reporting.

• Data Shared: Device identifiers (FCM tokens, APNS tokens), app usage events, purchase events, and basic device information, and crash diagnostics
• Services Used:
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): To send push notifications about app updates and features (including via APNs on iOS)
  • Firebase Analytics: To track app usage patterns, purchase events, and feature engagement
  • Firebase Remote Config: To retrieve app configuration such as update notices and AI feature settings
  • Firebase Crashlytics: To help diagnose crashes and improve stability
• Purpose: To send you notifications (if you opt-in) and to understand how users interact with the app to improve functionality

Your Consent and Data Sharing

Explicit Consent Requirement: By using Antique Identifier - Vestige, you explicitly consent to the sharing of your data (including images, queries, and usage information) with the third-party services listed above. This consent is required because:

• Third-party AI processing is essential for the antique identification feature to function
• Visual image search sends your photo to Google Cloud Vision so similar images on the public web can be shown in the app
• Payment processing requires third-party services to manage subscriptions
• You have the right to know where your data is being sent and how it will be used

If you do not consent to this third-party data sharing, you should not use this app.

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with third-party providers where it is necessary to operate the app and its features, and we select providers that are contractually required to protect your information in line with applicable laws.

Data Retention

Our Data Retention: We do not retain user prompts, uploaded images, or personal data on our servers.

Third-Party Data Retention: Please note that third-party services may have their own data retention policies. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies to understand how long they retain data.

Visual Match Results: Match titles, links, and thumbnail URLs are stored with the related catalog item until you delete that item, reset the catalog, or delete the app. Google Cloud Vision processes online image requests in memory; if you tap through to Google Lens or another website, that destination may retain data under its own policy.

Usage information and analytics are retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer on Antique Identifier - Vestige

While we strive to provide accurate information, Antique Identifier - Vestige's antique identification feature is not infallible. We do not guarantee the accuracy of identifications, visual matches, or value estimates, and users should not rely solely on our app for determining the authenticity or value of any antique. Visual matches are similar images found on the public web and are not listings, appraisals, or proof of authenticity. Always consult with certified experts for professional appraisals.

Some images, names, and trademarks displayed within Antique Identifier - Vestige appear solely for app functionality and are the property of their respective owners. MarioApps LLC does not claim ownership of any third-party content.

Your Rights and Choices

Right to Not Use the App: If you do not consent to the third-party data sharing described in this Privacy Policy, your only option is to not use the app.

Limited Control Over Third-Party Data: Once your data is shared with third-party services (such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Google Cloud Vision), we have limited control over how that data is used or retained.
